Dj CUTMAN Shocks the DJ World by Releasing Tracks Before The Show

A DJ’s tracklist is a closely guarded secret by most. The common criticism of the DJ simply “playing other people’s songs” is as persistent as it is frustrating for the hard working performer. Most DJs avoid this critique by playing newly released or underground remixes of popular songs. The average club goer can recognize the song’s melody, but these tracks different enough that most of the audience assumes the DJ is manipulating the track in some way. Most aren’t. The technical job of a DJ is playing pre-recorded songs in order to create a desired atmosphere, be it a club, lounge, wedding, or rave. The Art of DJing is in the techniques, media, style, and equipment used.

Dj CUTMAN shocked the DJ World today when he released his complete tracklist, for his upcoming performance at KATSUCON. The performance, a Dubstep and Video Game rave, will be held on Saturday. The convention held annually in National Harbor, Maryland. For more information, visit katsucon’s website.

When asked why he was doing this, Dj CUTMAN responded,

“People like hearing songs they know, right? Well why not let them hear the music before the show. All these tracks were downloaded for free from the internet anyway, might as well share the wealth.”

MORTAL KOMBAT! FIGHT!!

Cyborg on Cyborg Violence: KONFIRMED

NetherRealms Studios, formerly WB Games Chicago formerly Midway Chicago, kontinue to make me interested in Mortal Kombat again with the release of some new screen shots as well as a kouple kharacter announcements.  The new game is kalled Mortal Kombat, which should tell you that the kreators are aiming to take the series back to its gory roots. The two newest kombatants to join the roster are Cyrax and Kitana. They are joining an, already, impressive list of fighters including: Shao Kahn, Raiden, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Nightwolf, Mileena, Kung Lao, Sektor, and Reptile.  This list is far from the final roster, so you kan still expect to see Scorpion and perhaps some new faces to join the old. After releasing 3D MK games since Mortal Kombat 4 and the toned down T-rated violence of Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, Mortal Kombat is finally returning to glorious, gory 2D. The addition of a super meter and tag battles will bring new life to the series that will make it feel right at home next to Super Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3. As the game komes kloser to release more solid information about the new systems will be shared.

If you prefer you Mortal Kombat action non-polygonal then I have some exciting news for you too! ShopTo.net recently was the second online shop to have a listing for a Mortal Kombat Arcade Compilation (Kompilation?) for the PS3 and 360. According to rumors it will release before the end of the year at a budget price. It will include Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to feel the itch to start upper cutting some fools onto spikes.

Duke Nukem Again?

Art by Olly Moss

Like many of us, I have fond memories of handing strippers a folded piece of cash and hearing, “Shake it baby!”

Also, like many of us, I played Duke Nukem. When I heard that Duke Nukem Forever was being canceled I wasn’t disappointed. It was the outcome I had expected. I’m sure most people would have been more surprised if it had come out. Well prepare to have your hopes dashed one more time because a new rumor is making the rounds that the guys behind 2009’s FP-RPS (First Person Role-Playing Shooter) Borderlands, Gearbox Studios, are picking up where 3D Realms left off. This isn’t the craziest rumor I’ve heard though.

Take-Two still has the rights to the Duke Nukem franchise and Gearbox was supposed to be making a spin-off Duke Begins earlier in the year. Gearbox’s president Randy Pitchford neither confirmed nor denied this, but implied that he will be able to clarify at PAX Prime 2010 in a couple weeks.
