Rymdkraft – Space Force [ Review ]

Japanese chiptune label, Cheapbeats, brings us another great release: Space Force.  Space Force is an EP by Sweden’s own, giraffe-loving chiptune artist, Rymdkraft. This album combines classic chiptune sounds with modern electronic dance production. Going between house, breakbeat, and drum and bass, Rymdkraft offers a nice variety of dance music styles to enjoy.

Majority of the music is chip synths for leads, harmonies, and basslines combined with modern EDM percussion and effects. Many of the tracks keep the energy going through use of uplifting key changes, divergent break rhythms, and rousing melodies. After the short prelude in the form of ‘Wake up, Mr. Roboto’, ‘Corvegubbe’ launches the album into full-hype mode. The energy perseveres all the way through the album and leads to the hard hitting house finisher, ‘Cloudstomper’.

Space Force can be downloaded from Bandcamp for $6 digital, or $10 for a physical CD. You can follow Rymdkraft on Soundcloud for more music.
