Check out Asis Galvin’s video game beat tape Game Over on Bandcamp. Featuring nineteen instrumentals and a bonus rap song, Game Over features chopped and screwed tunes from games like Super Mario RPG, Mario Kart, and Pokemon.

One of my favorite tracks on the album is a remix of Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game, originally written by Chiptune rock band Anamanaguchi.

The album is tightly produced, dynmatic hiphop fashion, perfect for freestyling over or just some easy listening. At only $5, what’s not to like?

Deltron 3742 is a sequel to DJ Nerd42′s “Chrono Tied” (2009) which combines the lyrics of Deltron 3030 (2000) over beats made from sampling the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack. Most of the instrumentals came from Lost Perception or The Specialist. The instrumental on track 9 is from DJ Green Lantern, Prinz and Kool G Rap – “We G’z” from Alive on Arrival, Team Invasion 2006. The instrumental of track 1 was produced by DJ Nerd42 by sampling the album, “Distant Worlds; Music from Final Fantasy.”

ChipHop pioneer A_Rival has remixed his own track, this time bringing a heaping helping of electro and dubstep influences into his 8-bit cover of Busta Rhymes classic track.

Instrumental hip hop group from St. Louis called Safety Words. they are two producers who go by the names of Parisian and Dr. Phelonious. This is a Mediafire link to a mixtape called Ghostfaced Pixels, where they took about 40 Nintendo games, flipped the music into beats, then paired them with Ghostface/Wu Tang acapellas. Parisian does all the scratching.
